Meet Illinois State Senator Jacqui Collins

Jacqui’s state Senate seat is 15% of the 1st CD, giving her a strong advantage in a crowded 17-candidate field.

Jacqui has been serving the people of Illinois since 1983, when she registered voters to elect Chicago Mayor Harold Washington.  A former journalist and Emmy award-nominated editor at CBS-TV, Senator Collins has fought for economic and social welfare policies that reduce inequality, expand opportunities and strengthen communities.
